What is CalFresh?
CalFresh, also known as Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) or 鈥淔ood Stamps鈥�, is a California financial aid program that awards students up to $292 a month; this is FREE MONEY that can be used to purchase groceries and occasionally a hot meal with participating vendors. CalFresh benefits are accessed by using an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, used the same way you would use a debit or ATM card. These benefits can be used at many grocery stores and farmer鈥檚 markets.
Starting on October 1, 2025, CalFresh awards will increase to $298 a month for 1 household. For more information please review the released on September 3,2025.
How can we help
Our goal is to support our students with navigating CalFresh applications and getting them the maximum benefits that are allocated to them. The CalFresh team works closely with TrueCare and Feeding San Diego. With this partnership we provide the following:

CalFresh offers an array of benefits for those who are recipients! From different grocery stores support to using your benefits for free/discounted perks! To check your balance - there are three ways to find your account balance:
- By phone at 1.877.328.9677
- Online at or Providers App
- Printed on your receipt from an EBT/CalFresh purchase
- If you have Amazon, you can check on the website or app as well!
